Yikes!

My brother bought a '01 Ram 2500 a few months ago.

It's a Cummins, quad cab.

I never looked very closely at the tires that were on it because at first glance they just look like generic highway rib tires.

Today we were talking about tires and I walked out to look at his tires.

As it turns out, the tires on his truck are 265/75/16 SNOW TIRES.

Not only that, they're rated for 1108 lbs per tire!

I honestly can't believe one or more of them hasn't blown out by this point!

First off, slap him in the face for buying a Dodge. Secondly, slap him again for for putting thoes tires on there (or leaving them on there if he didn't buy them). And lastly, NEVER drive beside him, follow him, or ride with him

Unfortunately I did ride with him before looking at the tires. He's ordering new ones for it ASAP.

I won't smack him for buying it, I like those cummins :P

He has a tuner on that thing and it hauls some ***, that's for damn sure.

Thats damn scary. The same thing at work happened, someone put P rated tires on a F-250LD that had a dump bed, and they also severly overinflated the tires, like at 60psi.

I'd really like to know what tire shop put those tires on that truck.

I went to a couple places awhile back looking at tires myself and they told me they wouldn't even put a D load rated tire on a truck that originally came with E's.

fyi That's not the psi of the tire, that's the load rating. There should be a pressed in maximum psi rating in the same vicinity of the load rating.

???

What are you talking about? I didn't say PSI per tire, I said lbs per tire.

Also I think I may have misread...looked at some other tires and I see that kg's are listed first so maybe that's what it is.
