I want to trade my '04 Screw for an '08 FX2, but want to be sure to get the new 5.4 engine without the spark plug problem. Rumor has it that engines made after 10/06/07 have re-designed heads to eliminate the well-documented spark plug problems. How can I tell if a truck has the re-designed heads or not?(dealership sales staff is clueless).
I am a little skeptical because the parts ordering guide lists 2004-2008 left and right bank cylinder heads as the same part number for the last 4 model years.
Yea, I have spoken to different Ford dealers and they haven't made any change in head design according to them, but they have put anti-seize on the plug shield.
Well I know first hand, but I saw it on another Ford truck site. It was a oasis
broadcast last week. I just don't know how much I should talk about it. You see I like my job
If there was a redisgn would the parts books show that or would they just fill all orders with the redesigned part? Since I would imagine the new part will marry right up to the current parts.

Thats a good one if there is nothing wrong with these heads worth issuing a recal from ford why should it warrent changing the @@@@ing design of the heads, and of course the new plugs wont fit the old heads. Ford is losing lots of loyal people over this I bet.
