I am pretty sure they don't make a e locker for our trucks. I went through the same issues as you are over the last few months. I finially went with the Detroit TrueTrac. It is an awsome posi and runs completly like an open rear end until you need it to lock up. I really like it except on a dry pavement burnout, at the end of the burnout, one wheel will bite a split second before the other and you can feel a slight rock of the truck. Other than that, it really does work well. To test it, I put the right wheels on wet grass and the left on dry pavement. I gassed it enough to break everything loose and the right wheel started to spin for a split second and then both tires broke loose, the left one screaming and smoking on the dry pavement. I also called the factory, as most of their advertisements say no more than 33 in tires. They said that they have not updated their brochures, but that 800 ft lbs and 38's are no longer an issue (not that I have that, but I was concerned about our high torque levels).
They cost about $630 plus $200 for the bearing kit, plus installation. I ended up with about $1000 in mine, but it was worth it to me. Just my humble opinion.
I changed the fluid to no avail, the fluid I removed wasn't bad and didn't smell burnt, there wasn't anything foreign, either. Still a two wheeler peeler.
So a locker I'll be shopping for. Don't know if I want a 'full locker' because of the noise an binding.
Is the TrueTrac just a softer version of the Detroit?
Who knows what about the E-Locker from Eaton. Would be nice to lock and unlock.
-Thanks, Robby
I don't know anything about the truetrac or the e-locker. I've heard good things about Auburn but nothing hands-on.
rebelchevy02 is correct, I ran a Detroit locker in my truck until a week ago.
I put 250,000 miles on one. Yes, it's noisy but you can learn how to drive with it. Any low speed turning manuever under throttle (my DRW with 285/75s does) will have the inside tire chirping (forward or reverse) and will sound like something is breaking when it unbinds. It is the nature of a 'full' locker.
When I put in the Detroit, some six years ago? I thought it was the best mod I had done to my truck. Still feel that way.
If you're interested in my old Detroit (it'll need to be rebuilt) shoot me a pm.
Jet, I don't remember your truck sounding clunky and don't remember anything harsh going on. What gives?
How much for the old Detroit, and where/how do I get it rebuilt?

A. I know how to drive
B. I'll give it to ya!
C. Superior Spring will rebuild it, don't know how much, but at the expense of a free locker, the cost to rebuild would me more than worth it.
How many miles are on your RE? You may want to consider doing bearings and gears while you're in there.

Picked up my truck this afternoon from The Mud Connection with my new to me Detroit Locker.
Don't like that they charged me almost $400 for a 'rebuild' kit for my rearend (could've bought it at NAPA for 1/2 that), didn't have the locker rebuilt (said it didn't need it), and put in 4:10 gears.
The gears totally changed the powerband, sorta woke it up.
In short, about $800 later, I can lay down four big black ones. No matter which way I turn, no matter what I do. Still breaking in everything but so far I LOVE IT.
This locker is noisy, but not too bad. It does more clanking in reverse than anything.
I'd like to thank SolidGround for the locker, that was a real cool thing to do. I don't know how to leave rep points but that's worth a few.
