Question about the 10K mod

For those who have installed the 10K mod, can I expect instant power gain as soon as i turn the key or does it run crappy for a while until the computer learns and starts compensating for the mod?

It was my experience that things happened right away upon initial startup. Especially when I went tot he 1. level. My idle smoothed out and the power rolled on much more easily. Even a solid duting of black smoke.
Worst case scenario: you overheat your turbo under heavy load because you dont have guages.
Butget a pyro guage and you don't have to worry. FWIW: After the 10k then the 15.6k mod, I noticed a very slight increase in ex temps and had no trouble keeping the temps low enough to prevent turbo damage. So if you do the mod w/out guages, and you just take things easy you should be ok. But eventually get some guages. It is worth the peace of mind.

try the 14 or 15k, its quite a difference from the 10k.

I did the FPR shim tonight, can't belive it took me so long to do a 5 minute process. (5 min. because i had to get the magnet out after dropping the spring on top of the motor). haven't had a chance to drive it yet but I am probably just going to do a 15 k mod right off the bat tomorrow before test drive. I just wanted to know what to expect. Definitely have a pyro in the budget since i tow my 7500# toyhauler out to the desert 6-7 times a season. I will probably make up a 10k mod just in case i need to back it down some for towing.

the fuel pressure shim you really arent going to fell much if anything, the icp mod is where your power is felt
