Return gas line

Return gas line
I'm running 5.0L EFI and need to run return fuel line to tank. I've read that the best depth in tank is about half down into the tank. I fabbed a cover that will go into top of tank with lock ring; which I will run the return line to. I originally though of putting return line into filler spout, but may not have room. Any feedback on location and depth into tank?

If I remember right the return lines are like you said, approx half way down into the tank, the vapor lines are typically right at the top.
Here is a link to a site that sells tanks and sending units, you can probably get some kind of idea by checking out the sending unit that fit he vehicle your EFI came out of

Thanks, it confirms what I thought I might use, I'll just bend tubing and silver solder it to the cover plate. Looks like 1/3 to 1/2 way is the way to go.
