Question

Does anyone know if there is a diesel engine that will fit into a 1999 Ranger with a 3.0 litre V-6. Engine is still runing strong at 132000 miles, but I'm just looking towards the future when she blows. Been doing a lot of research on biodiesel and making it at home and I thought that the Ranger would do great with a diesel under the hood.

4BT Cummins, Isuzu cube van 4cyl, Mercedes I-5, pretty much any RWD powertrane you can make fit. Nothing that will even come close to a bolt it though if that's what you're asking.

Ford may come out with an updated new model with a diesel in 2011.

My Dad had a mid 80's 2wd ranger with a deisel in it, not sure who made engine but it was factory, so they are out there....
