95 ranger help
Okay I have a 95 2wd extended cab 3.0L v6. It is an automatic. It seems to shift hard, jerky. Also when I reach about 70 miles and hour the engine gets EXTREMELY loud then gets quiet once i gain a little bit more speed. If you need to know what rpm's it gets loud at I can test it tomorrow.

The 3.0 in my 94 with a 5-speed gets loud in that speed range. I think its the breaking point where your engine audibly is loud, but then the sound of a brick pushing wind at 80+ mph overpowers the motor groaning.
Also the tranny shifting seemingly hard is a seperate issue.

I'll check the levels tomorrow but everything has been changed before. The transmission only has about 51000 miles on it because it's new. The loud engine happens quickly then goes away after about 5 seconds depending on if i accelerate or not.
