Just because I'm curious and have a push-button wired to my solenoid to start my truck (effectively bypassing the NSS), I have to ask... Do your wires you mention do this same thing?

I bought my truck this way and left it becuase I've always liked push-button start switches.

neutral safety

The problem relates around the end of the clutch. that rod is worn out and that plastic bushing keeps breaking so that rod doesnt fully engage what i believe is the neutral safety box.......I can jump around it to start off the solinoid

A truck with an automatic, should have the neutral safty for the clutch pedal, tie wrapped up on the firewall. It has a dummie or bypass plug in it. Get one of those and simply plug it in. I recently changed cabs, because of rust. My truck is a 5 spd and the cab I bought to install came with a C-6. Quick and easy swap as the truck is wired for both the auto and stick.

no the ignition switch is on the lower side of the steering column. the clutch pedal ignition interrupter switch is up under the dash on the pedal Assembly.
it will have 4 wires to it if you have cruise control. in the pedal to the floor position, the one side of the switch will let the truck start. with the pedal released, it will let the cruise control work.
