03 f350 with 114500 miles on it. Started to miss a little on my way home tonight.
Question is what type spark plugs to use. Do i go with the factory plugs or does anyone prefer another brand?
thank You
You say it is just missing "a little." As in ... when you give it a little gas? If so, that is a "light load miss," and very well may be one of the COP's (coils). It is not rare.
Also, I don't know when Ford changed the cyl heads (others here will know), but are you aware of the spitting spark plugs? Use great care when installing the new plugs ---- torque wrench and most people seem to stay with Motorcraft plugs.
Also, blow out the spark plug well before you remove the plug, I've had debris/water down in there that could fall into the cylinder.
Also, liberal amount of dielectic grease at the COP boot-spark plug contact areas.
A little miss turned into a very noticable miss tonight.
Will replace plugs with motorcraft and cop boots before I start replacing cop's
Thank you all for the info.
