Spark plug Gap

Hello

I've seen posting where people say that they've gapped thier plugs to 0.50, etc. My little disk gapper from Wal-Mart goes up to 0.100. My Haynes manual says to gap the plugs 0.042 (or thereabouts). So is 0.50 correct or possible?

Thanks

Replying to myself is fun! I re-did my homework , and I was wrong, it has to be in the 0.050 range.

Thank you
Brian

Spark plug Gap

Well, after installing Jacobs plug wires, I now gap my plugs to .050 on my copper core plugs. These are lifetime wires, not powder or graphite "wires".

I did have to go and purchase another gap tool that went to .50 gap.
