I have to agree with NumberDummy unfortunately. I've been a few times and have never really seen anything that makes me want to come back. I find MUCH better deals on ammo online, even with shipping.
If I needed a case or pack, I might go but $10 to get in, 8$ to park before I even buy anything is kinda steep, although maybe I'm just a tightass.
Yup. I only order online now. 1,000+ rounds at a time for the bulk discount.
You guys should work on making each shot count. Leave the spraying and praying to the Islamic militants.
Yeah...I do now. In my younger days though, I got a kick out of doing quick mag dumps (easily entertained). It didn't take me long to "break-in" my AR-15. lol.
I was going to the Pomona shows when I was a kid. It was an awesome show, and in my humble (and possibly uneducated) opinion there in not a gun show currently in So Cal that holds a candle to the old Pomona shows.
But if you want a tattoo, to meet a **** star or attend "Hemp-Con" then Pomona is your place. =)
The Great Western Gun Show held at the fairgrounds in Pomona, got that name, because it was originally held at the Great Western Exhibition Center, which was west of I-5 in Commerce.
When the land was sold for housing, the show moved to Pomona. I attended the show at both locations beginning in the mid 1960's.
When the show was held at the original location, only guns/ammo were allowed, no 'swap meet' stuff. When the show moved to Pomona, except for Building 8, all manner of stuff was available. Building 8: Guns/ammo only.
In Building 8, circa 1979, a local TV station news crew snuck in a camera, took all sorts of clandestine videos. While they were filming, someone picked up a Colt auto off a table, loaded a round and fired it at the ceiling.
On the news that night, the TV reporter said the show was unsafe, should be closed.
The show promotors blamed the news crew, as they said it was one of their crew members that did it, because the incident was captured on video.
A pal and I were at the south end of Building 8 when this incident occurred. The news crew was at the north end, only a few feet away when the gun went off.
I should add that back then, tie straps were not required, like they are today.

I attended those shows too. At some of them they had a Wild West and Militaria style reenactment show. My new bride and I attended one sometime in the 70's, and they fired a cannon that had about a 40mm bore. I know the bore size, because my wife got hit hard in the neck with the cardboard wad from the blank shell. It was pretty scary, and hit her hard enough that I could hear the smack on flesh, and it left a bright red welt.

At one time, if you wore wild west clothing, correct foreign/domestic military uniforms and etc., you got in free.
During the last years of the show, **** wanna-be's were showing up in full dress SS uniforms, paraded around, p!ssed a lot of people off.
I believe this gave CA another reason to shut the show down.

Yep! I still have a few of the flyers from the 90's Pomona shows that state that. It sure was a great event to spend a Friday afternoon looking at all of the vendors various items and munching on grilled Tri-Tip!

OK, I'll be accused of wearing my tin foil hat here, but.... possibly hired actors in **** uniforms? Professional liar and all around dirtbag Zev Yaroslavsky is certainly not above such a thing. He's a complete waste of oxygen.

Better pass the tin foil around!
I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought the same thing. Ol' Zev would think the end justified the means.

what kind of prices do you find .223 for 1K? the best shipped price i can find is $330. i bought 1K at the show for $270 after tax. just wondering where you shop at on line? oh and these are factory reloads.
I usually hit up the OC show since it's a mile from the house.
just buy ammo these days, not much to look at gun wise.
I did pick up a new stock for my 10/22 last time though.
