anyone going today or tomorrow? i think i am going today and gana pick up a few thousand rounds of .40 and .223, and .22 if they have it but i dont think they will as its so cheep already.

BradyCouchman 08-20-2011 12:58 PM

so i ended up getting 2000 .40 and 1000 .223 for me and 200 5.7X56MM for a buddy with a P90. and that was enough to carry on my back so i didnt even look at the .22 cost.

but i am not sure i need all .223 because i already have over 1000 so i might sell some of it to friends, but the price was too good to pass up after paying to get in.

Can't have too much ammo...it's never going to be cheaper than it is right now.

I didn't know (or I forgot :D) that you had a .40. Refresh my memory...what did you buy?

BradyCouchman 08-20-2011 01:24 PM

black friday 2010 i got a Springfield XD .40 4 inch barrel. it was a deal with 3 extra mags (2 came with gun, 5 in total) and a extra mag holder 2 in total and a speed loader. and then on sale too.

SteveBricks 08-20-2011 01:34 PM

I'm on Crossroads mailing list, been to that show a coupla times.

This show has more beef jerky, camo, leather goods than guns.

IMO, it resembles a swap meet. If you are a collector of old firearms, you won't find much.

I still miss the Pomona shows, those were the best!

I have not been to a decent gun show in a few years now. Guess I'll check out the Crossroads website and see when the next one is so I can go with Colt. :)

Unless you're only putting it through a bolt gun...1,000 rounds isn't a lot of .223. Hang onto it.http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...e/twocents.gif I used to piss through a few hundred rounds in a sitting (I never have the time to get to a range anymore).

That's a good weekend for me. :-X22

I have to agree with NumberDummy unfortunately. I've been a few times and have never really seen anything that makes me want to come back. I find MUCH better deals on ammo online, even with shipping.

If I needed a case or pack, I might go but $10 to get in, 8$ to park before I even buy anything is kinda steep, although maybe I'm just a tightass.

Crossroads has several of these shows at the OCFG every year, but they are not all the same. The Spring show is the biggest IIRC, usually around the end of April or first of May.

The sad thing is, the shows are pretty good for everything except guns. Blame the government. The shows are a good time to stock up on cleaning supplies and ammo and accessories.

It pisses me off that LAC banned gun shows from Pomona, but they welcome the Pornography and Tattoo shows.

Did you guys see me there at the gun show with my Muscle Shirt pointing towards the beach?!?!? :D

barthel 08-22-2011 10:20 AM

I was going to the Pomona shows when I was a kid. It was an awesome show, and in my humble (and possibly uneducated) opinion there in not a gun show currently in So Cal that holds a candle to the old Pomona shows.

But if you want a tattoo, to meet a porn star or attend "Hemp-Con" then Pomona is your place. =)
