Hey Dr, I am sorry I never got back to you on the hinges. Mine are all junk that I have now. I do trade for stuff from time to time? But What you did is very nice!! What kind of hinges did you end up using to make the hatchback idea work? It looks first class! You're moving right along! You should be very proud of yourself. Your panel is in way better shape than mine is! If you'd taken mine apart like you did yours it would have fell apart! I'll have to weld angle iron supports inside of mine before I take it off the frame or it will fall apart. Nice Job! Keep us posted on your progress.
Great job on the doors David, they appear to have turned out better than mine. You seem to be making better progress than I am too. Be sure to keep us posted. I love these old panels. Do you work alone?
Looking good Dave. What brake master cyl & pedal assembly are you going to use? I'm doing a 54 short box and trying to deside which way to go. What engine and transmission was in it originally? It's nice to see someone else on here from the northeast. We are in the minority! Might be because all our old iron is gone, rotted from salty winters. I'm in MA on the NY line not that far from Fonda.

While checking out your gallery I saw the comment from ferguson777 about the one piece window and I thought that could be a really cool modification so I tinkered with the back door a little, what do you think?
I used 74 pinto wagon hinges, try to find them. The truck originaly had a 239 yblock with auto trans.I will be going with a 78 ford ranger master cyl and power boster.I have a Friend that is helping with the body work he shows up every weekday at 830am and we work until 12;30 pm then he goes home and I finsh up at about 2;30.THe one piece window loks neat but I am going for the stock look,We are even thinking of putting a seam down the middle of the hatch to make it look like two doors. The dodge was a 2 1/2 ton fire truck cab and chassie that was given to me by a amish farmer that wanted it off some property he had,It had 7,000 miles and no rust,I put the cab on a 1995 ram 1500 running gear 5.9 auto 4x4 then found a box and finished as a 1950 pickup should look many people thought it was a power wagon from 1950.I should of keeped it but for me the fun is building and I have to sell to pay for the next project.Which by the way will be a 1957 ford anglia 2 door sedean that will look stock but will have a 3 cyl geo metro motor 5 speed.
