U think that could mess the alignment up? I already have 18k on my bfg a/t and they are exteremly close to being bald. If u guys had tires like that would u go and complain?
Sure it can if your axles are slipping in the U bolts, then you end up with the rear # of inches off from the front. Plus it can stress your universals and drive shaft.
As long as the springs are in the locater pin then there should be any issues of rear axle misalignment. However, it could be possible (doubtful) that the spring could be bent laterally. That'd take some force...
I'd torque it all back down properly and re-torque regularly!
When I installed my RoadMaster Active Suspension...I put some thread locker on the threads of the U-Bolts before re-assembly...just a thought on something you may want to try and add...I also visually inspect mine when I hitch up the trailer as I have easier visual access when I lift the rear of the Ex to get the WD bars attached and that helps to 'see' over the wheel and at the U-bolt nuts...
You're very lucky, Matt! Most importantly, you actually looked into the problem and it turned out to be simple.
A few years back my mom was driving her (new) Infiniti with 13,000 miles on it. The oil light came on, and she said "Oh, I don't have time to deal with this" and kept on driving the 200 miles home. Amazingly she didn't blow up the engine completely, but it was toast. 30 minutes at an oil change place could have prevented that, turns out the oil filter was defective (no, they didn't pay up).

that sucks to hear that happened. I guess looking into the problem helped alot instead of thinking that the axle gears are going or somthing and keep driving it to only find out that the axle is loose.
