When ever i turn left, right or accelerate, it feels like my rear axle is shifting. What do u guys think the problem is? I thought it could of been the u joints but i replaced them last year. Do u guys think that the axle is loose becaue it has blocks?
Can you check the torque on the u-bolts?...that would tell for sure. Shoot some paint on the axle where it passes thru the U-bolts to make sure the axle isn't shifting...you know kinda make a stripe on the axle OVER the u-bolt...
Also...what tire pressures are you running?...I ask...because when I ran too high of pressure in my tires...it felt really squirely (sp?) in the rear...I backed off the pressure and things felt more stable...just a thought...
I figure a picture was better...take a look at the u-bolt...do you see the greenish paint stripe on the axle and u-bolt...if you put that type of stripe on your axle...and it 'slides' in the u-bolt...you would see the stripe mis-aligned or all marred up.
OO that picture makes alot more sense. For some reason i thought u were talkin about the u joint. I will do that and if it shifts then that is most likely why it is making that vidbration. Thanks for the tip!
I would check the torque on ALL of your rear suspension!! Most particularly the U-bolts and front and rear leaf bolts. If NONE of them are loose then I would starting checking your rear driveline again as well as your rear pinion.
I would check this stuff soon, the last thing you want to do is "spit a block" or damage the leaves. You can do alot of other damage in the process.
Ill let u guys kno, but i personally think it is the blocks because i use to do alot of rough off roading and the blocks havent been tightned since we put the lift on. Im going to check tomorow night

When you install blocks you need to torque properly, then re-torque after 100 miles, 500 miles, and periodically afterwards untill they are tight every time you check. If you haven't checked them this is VERY likely to be your problem.
I got to look at the truck yesterday. The problem was that the axle was so loose. I could move both u bolts with my hands on the drivers sideof the axle
