The factory oil gauges are more of an on off switch than they are an actual pressure gauge. Being 3 quarts low on oil could be your no start problem. What kind of oil are you running?

I'd go ahead and change the oil. While your at it don't forget to check the HPOP oil level.

I had a similar problem a few weeks back. Check the oil level in the HPOP. It's simple and it may just be your problem.

On the top of the HPOP (just in front of the fuel filter) there is a small, lpug with a hole for an allen key. Take out the plug and dip something in there. The allen key will work if it is long. The oil should be just about 3/4" from the top.
