all ive ever had was a 300 big Six even in my drag cars my first truck had one and ive nvr changed ...
but well i got ahold oh an 80 step side one owner 300 under the hood 120k no rebuild all original for only $500 bucks heck yes i paid cash
i build the motor up to bout 385 horses it was very stought i loved !! well the water pump blew on my last work trip and blew a freeze plug out then the head so
with no money left to rebuild the motor i have to drop in this old 302 i bought a long while back
its completely in parts
i just want help on what i should do to it
such as:
long tube or shorty headers
windsor heads or should i build a clever*
its already cammed up from what i know and bored bout 30 over
so all in all everybody plz pitch some info
oh and by the way im throwing eith a small block C-6 tranny or C-4 witch ever i can redo first
ive got all the parts lyeing around to do a clever be fore my dad died he was going to so he had bought everything i just dont have alotta time to do any machine work
and i bored it out .50 over performance crank and cam from clifford, aluminum head, msd, ford old stock oem 2 barrel tri-intake, split drag/street headers flowing threw 2 inth primaries,
originaly it pumped over 400 hp but we had build a twin turbo manifold for it with 2 T 40 turbos and it was propane powered
but the motor had to high a compression rate and blew the head so we went in a different direction
Well since you've got the parts, do the clever! I think the only extra machine work is to drill, tap and plug a couple holes in each Cleveland head and then drill a couple new ones. The detailed instructions were included with the intakes, or you can search out the info on the internet.
