jetting ???
My motor likes to ping in high rpms and WOT. I can turn the timing back and do away with it, bu then I run crappy power through the powerband. Also, it seems to fall on its face right off when I get on it, at any rpm.
I've had the dizzy recurved. Made the problem less severe, but it's still there. I can get good power and ok response, but then it pings at open throttle.
I have the Edelbrock Performer (1406) on my motor. The motor is a 74 spec 390 with headers. I'm gonna play the jetting game, but wondered what a good base jetting setup is for this app. Any experiances?

Falls on face on accel? Seems accel pump setting is one place to start looking. Those Ebok carbs are a strange bird to tune(compared to the ol Holley). I have an ancient "strip kit" from Carter for when I had a couple of those type carbs in the late 80's. Springs, pins and jets and alot of tinkering. I have had Holleys ever since LOL!

Just look on the chart in the book that came with the carb and get the springs that will fatten it up a step or two. If you don't have the book, the info is available on the Edelbrock site...
