xfer case troubles

Well, no matter which way I push pull or wiggle it, it just won't go past 4Hi.
I don't think the transfer case is original to the truck, and couldn't tell what it came out of, but it is definitely a Borg Warner (stamped on the housing).
I'm not going to worry about it any more, though. 4Hi works fine, and I've got granny low in the transmission. If it blows up, I'll just drive the '85 instead.
