Smile Front Grill Removal
Does anyone know what is involved in removing the front grill? I want to take it out to paint the honeycomb inner part red like the rest of the grill. I saw that the limited came with the colored inserts but the limited didn't come in red.

There are 4 screw on top of the grill and 4 clips at the botton. You will need a flat head screw drive to get the clips on the bottom off,

Either way u can keep the clips attached to the truck or to the grille. Doesnt really matter.

U can keep the attached to the relief panel.

A relief panel is number 3 on the diagram.

it comes out. U dont want to pull it up. After u un screw the four screws, u want to grab the bottom of the grille with ur hand and pull outwards.

NO! NO! NO!

Use a screwdriver (flat-tip) to push the top of the clip down. It will pull free from the truck. The clips stay on the grill.

what do u mean ken? I have never had a problem putting the grille bac on with the clips still on the relief panel.

You risk breaking the tabs or bending the clips by just pulling it like that. A screwdriver makes the job quick and easy.
