Hey guys,
I was looking on ebay today and saw an edelbrock 1 barrel performance intake. Anyone ever heard of one of these? What could it offer as far as power gain?

Are you talking about the intake for the 300 that you are able to mount a 4 bbl Carb atop of? If so these are quite nice, they give your inline six quite a wake up call in my experience. The only problem with those is you have to play with the vacuum to get the fuel to go evenly from one side to another. Ive once heard the idea that sounded good to me, so When I start to build up a 300 again (project I'll oneday undertake) I was going to do this to it. In the hole you can style a plate to fit in between the center of the intake, and afit that in there and weld it into place, make sure there are no leaks, and then it has become a dual plane manifold for an inline six. Adds playing with the vacuum no longer a problem. Much like a v8 motor, each plane on an 4 bbl carb would get a primary barrel and a secondary. If this is what you were refering to I hope Ive been of soem help, if not then eh, oh well
My old boss had one on his '79 van with a 300. He said it did make a noticeable difference. I think it was called called the Streetmaster and had smaller runners to the end cylinders to keep velocity up. They were sold in the late 70's/ early 80's.
Anyone know where to get an Edelbrock 1v Intake Manifold for 240/300 or seen one recently?? Thank you!!!! $$$
This part hasn't been made new in a long time. If you're interested in one though, just keep checking eBay and craigslist. They pop up from time to time. It's about all you can do.
Thanks! Yea, I been keeping eye out on eBay & craigslist; also thought someone just might have one available on this site. Know they're rare item but maybe someone is ready let it go for some $$$$$! Thanks again
Looks to be in really nice condition, Jack. Unfortunately, the bottom being shaved off is going to make it difficult for a stock replacement since it won't be able to directly bolt to the exhaust manifold. I imagine if someone was clever, they could rig something up to fix it. Or weld extra material onto it and shave it back down.
Granted, if you're going to go with the EFI manifolds, then it is a moot point.
