Aware of what it is.
The question is can it be added after the truck has been delivered.
According to a post on another site it is possible to add, but not cheap. The thing that is unclear to me, is if the heater can be added to 6 speed or even gas engine trucks.

One issue that I see with adding it to gassers is the alternator size, 115-amp. Even with the diesel you are required to get the 200-amp alternator at a min. So adding it to a gasser would at least require a alternator upgrade.
Depending on how much it is, you might consider getting an inverter and one of those ceramic heaters. I know it's not going to be tucked out of the way, but then you'd have 120vac onboard for whatever you needed and a heater to use wherever you needed it. I'd bet that the ceramic heater would warm things up pretty quickly. I've also seen 12vdc heaters, again not as nice but a lot cheaper.

I've been working on adding something similar to my '03 psd ever since I saw the Rapid-Heat on the '08. Biggest problem is not melting the plastic ductwork with the new electric heater. If I ever get something working, you better believe there will be a tutorial on here.

Actually, the powerfold mirrors and heated seats can be purchased with the 6 speed. However the rapid heat wasn't available on the Job 1 and 2 manual shift trucks. I hear it is available with stick shifts on the job 3 trucks.
It was my understanding that the rapid heat uses the tranny cooler on the automatic transmission so unless this information is wrong, I don't see how this will ever be added to a stick.

No the rapid heat is electric. It does not use the tranny lines. Its 1850 watts wrapped in a ceramic case. To buy all the parts to install it will cost you over 700.00. The heater alone is 300.00.

You are correct the powerfold mirrors are now aviable with a 6-speed. I beleave that was a job 2 change. They were not aviable when I ordered my truck. I ordered during Job 1 time but it was built during Job 2 time. That is why I wasn't able to get the reverse camera either.
But the heated seats are still showing up as requiring an upgrade to leather bucket seats and console which then requires an upgrade to automatic transmission. Atleast this happens when I try to build an FX4. Maybe heated seats with 6-speed are aviable on another trim level? But Ford knows us FX4 owners never get cold boddoms.
