"Flipping"/relocating fuel filter?

Have any of you guys relocated the fuel filter assembly or flipped it on its bracket somehow?

I'd really like to run an intake from my turbo straight over to that big open spot on the passenger side fenderwell, but the fuel filter is smack in the way.

I figured it'd be easy enough to replace the hardlines with -4 AN line if need be since they aren't high pressure lines...just wondering what you guys have done for relocation

I don't see where you would have any problem. I changed the one on my 7.3 to the old style without water seperater because of cost of filters.

Well, I'd like to relocate it to the fenderwell or somewhere in that area, but I guess I'm a little worried about getting air into the system with the lines off.

Can regular teflon tape be used with diesel fuel?

yes air problem won't be any worse than changing filter. bleed at the schrader valve you should be ok.

Sounds good.

Also I guess I was a little mistaken about the lines, I looked and see they're probably more like a -6 AN.

But, I guess that's a project I'll be working on sometime before too long.
