It's an awsome set-up. I've been running the performance tune for the last several thousand miles and have averaged 17.5 mpg, mostly highway.
Raced a Dodge a few weeks ago down the highway and by the time I decided to look at the display I was doing 122 mph!! And it still wanted to go. And to say the least the Dodge got smoked.

Powerstroked162, what did you mean by custom tunes??? I'm new to the diesel world as I will be picking up my 2008 6.4 this weekend and have my SCT Extreme all ready to go. How much more is left to tune after that without changing other parts??? The Newbie needs to know and I'm with 2008drkstone on keeping the stock look. Thanks

[QUOTE=SouthTexasDiesel]Heck yea. I'm waiting to Innovative Diesel to release the tune they've been working on.[QUOTE]
FWIW, the DPF delete shows no gain in HP on the dyno. So unless the Innovative boys have found some miraculous way to make an improvement over stock without a DPF, that many other performance shops have tried to do as well with no gain and even reports of lost HP, then its not worth the loss of powertrain warranty for a cool sound IMO. And trust me, no matter how friendly, deep in your hip pocket, cool, outta this world spectacular your dealer may be, you will loose your powertrain warranty mark my words. Best of luck
Rest assured that I having been the owner of a truck with the DPF removed, do know what Im talking about.

I'm not doing it for HP or Tq gains. It's to get rid of the little nuke under that truck that will catch my ranch on fire. I have to drive through tall dry grass everyday. And I was able to get a piece of paper to light on fire just from the heat coming out of the tips, so I know it can happen.
Not to mention I'm keeping my stock exhaust in one piece, so if anything happens I can just stick it back on. And my salesman, service manager, and owner of the dealership are personal customers of my business. So they don't really care about my programmer.

I have drove my 450 through the hay fields, the grass pasture, the dry grass fields, through a budies wheat field on a tractor recovery, through the feed pasture which is over run by star thistle weeds, etc., and have never caught anything on fire even when the truck was in regen mode.
