Hey guys, I have a F-250 6.4L PSD. I have never owned a diesel before so excuse me if this is a stupid question but when I start it cold the idle fluctuates up and down for about 5 minutes and then idles up to about 1000 and stays there until I put my foot on the brake. The dealership told me it was normal to idle up so the exhaust system warms up as soon as possible, but no explantion as to why it fluctuates. Is this normal when it is cold out? Other than that, this is one hell of a truck!
