Ignitor

Anyone have any experience with the Pertronix electronic ignition system that Mac's sells?

It is an excellent upgrade to a points system. I run one in my truck.

I bought the Ignitor 1 from Jegs..it really is the answer over points..my truck sits up to 6 months or more and as long as there is gas in the carb will start right up without any further attention..I also wind it up to at least 6000rpm and never misses..I've heard complaints about Ignitor 2 but have no problems with the Ignitor 1..

I ran Petronix set up on my 1970 F100 for about 18 months. Recently, it started to act up and I couldn't get all 8 cylinders to fire. After a bunch of trial and error, I removed and took it to the company (live nearby). They replaced it without hassles. So they did stand by the product within the 30 month warranty period.

LMAO after being a sucker many times with their product when it first came out, had many on the road failures with replacements until I got smart not wasting good money on crap. I had a few friends converted to this product that were pissed at me after having again failures. I can see the flames starting with certain members so what as this has been hammered back and fourth before so won't answer back.

There must be a reason why in the Bush Series top 10 in points that 9 of 10 cars have Crane ignition systems with a optical trigger system.
Check into Crane's Newsletter number 241 with other top racing divisions that
also run Crane products, funny must be some reason why when big money is on the line?

After this post Mr. "Performance Distributors" should pop up with his $400
cure to all your ignition troubles. Every now and then even a blind rat can find the cheese or your wallet $$$$$$$$$.

John, and others must know by now I have a passionate hatred for Pertronix after numerous failures myself and friends I talked into purchasing their product when they first came on the market. After Pertronix not honoring their warranty at the end I formed a strong opinion about their company.
The best part I installed a home made unit that lasted 16 trouble free years and only cost $21 for the parts from one of the friends that also had a Pertronix's failure. A IBM electronics wiz bang person designed it at work.
Done dead no more replies from me on this topic, wipe that smile off your face John and Happy T-Day all. Get stuffed.
