i got a bully dog programmer for my truck, build date 6/98, when i use the programmer i get a code for the Keep Alive Memory, not sure where to correct this code because i cant find it in the book. also, in reading the newer documentation for the programmer i see it now says 99.5 to 03 trucks only. anyone have any insight to what the difference is between and early 99 and 99.5. bully dog has been NO HELP yet after emails. thanks for any help.
The KAM code is typical of a battery beng disconnected. All this means is the PCM lost power. Nothing to worry about.
Not sure about the all differences for using a Programmer...but there ARE engine differences from a 99 to a 99 1/2. You have a 99, the cutoff build date is 12/07/98 for a 99. Everything after that date is a 99 1/2.
my build is 6/98, for the bully dog programmer i am not sure if the 99.5 programed something unusal, the truck when cold will not drive above 1500rpm with the pedal matted. no other codes appear
