I just wanted to look at the photos and go over the instructions everyone posted. I can't get over the time you all put in this thread. For a backyard wrench this means allot! Will outside I go to do ti Thank's.
I never get"a Bath" either. Don't know what you folks are doing but my process is similiar to the pic's except I have the new IH drain plug which makes it even easier to take out the drain plug.
It stay's in place and doesn't fall into the diesel drain bottle. Looks like this when you get it and th "T" catches inside the fuel pump and holds it there after you unscrew it.
Note original plug next to the IH replacement. I got the new plug at my local IH dealer, around $15.00. I had also had trouble getting a hex wrench into the new plug. Didn't really fit any of the standard or metric wrenches I had.
Not bad until I pulled the large filter out then the fuel ran! I saw the photos of the rags and it helped. My filters were clean! All of that and the filters were clean. I guess I am lucky no water or dirt. The socket was the best thing.
