Just an FYI the OEM Cat will result in only a 1Hp decrease in power compared to no Cat at all. The modern Cat is just not very restrictive.

Make sure it is your cat. I am pretty sure that 03 trucks had a pre-cat resonator also.

Blackhat620-FYI I know for sure that there were resonators on some 2003 6.0 downpipes that were rapped in foil insulation. Check out thread-Horrible Turbo Whine after upgrade-from 4/27/04 started by Tractor Puller. I hope I did not offend you. Thanks.

After the replies to my post I realize the leak I have is on the muffler side of the cat but I also do have a resonator wrapped in foil on the downpipe. I am not sure what the warranty is exactly, it may be 7/70 for the cat but I bet the dealer will find some loophole where this is not covered. I am looking at the Silverline 4" turbo back but I probably will have the cat weld repaired in the interim. I need to check if Connecticut tests diesels for emissions. If they do it would only be an OBD test, no tailpipe check, so I may be OK with a cat bypass.

Well since you are in CT, you are in a Non-California emissions state (California emissions states CA, MA, ME, NY & VT). So your emissions warranty is 5/50k.

Well after some searching, it appears that some of the early 03 6.0 had a downpipe that had a baffle in it. I have not seen one of these, and it appears the pictures that where posted have been lost or removed. Any way here are a couple of threads on the subject.
