I have a 93 Bronco V8. I got in and it started with no problem. Then I noticed the tach was not working. No biggie. After I backed out and dumped it in drive, It started bucking and will not go over 10 mph. Anybody have any idea what happened? TIA guys
My FSB was running rough after not driving it for a couple of months. I think I had bad gas. Put new gas and use Lucas injector cleaner in the tank. My truck runs like a top now.
Is your charging/battery system okay?
Gotta start somewhere.
can you give us some more info? like was the truck sitting for a long time. did you recently fix something etc.
sounds like a fuel issue, either tps. a bad sensor or something along those lines.
my 89f150 ran great and one day i came home for lunch, 30mins later on my way back to work and it started bucking and running really bad. It was a combo of things but i ended up replacing the ignition coil as well as all the plug, wires, cap/rotor and all was fine again.
I forgot - I too changed my 130,000 plus cap and rotor. TOTALLY SHOT.
good catch -shift1313.
Funny it was only a week ago and I forgot.
Rough week at work for me.

It wasn't even 30 mins. I'm swaying towards the coil or at the very least the wiring to it. Why would the tach stop working all of a sudden? It is wired into the coil. correct?
Yes the tach is wire into coil. He could check it it has 130000= As said (they usually go longer than that). But I swap em out on every new to me truck I get .
