What do you use for wheel chocks?

I need something better than the flat bricks I'm using now -- they slide too easily.

Any suggestions of what I could make out of wood or something else?

Best thing I've found is the chocks that come in Chevy trucks, I know I said a dirty word, but they work great and you can get them at any Chevy dealer and at some auto parts stores. I have a set in my Ranger. They are steal and have teeth in the front to dig into what ever your parked on.

or you could cut some scrap 4x6s.
or stack 2x6s together - use different lenghts - cut them progressively shorter so they look like a set of steps after you put them all together.

This was originally in my '91 Ranger owners manual:

1) Get a 12" long piece of 4x4 (two 12" pieces for two pair of chocks).
2) Cut the wood in half with a diagonal cut at about a 30 deg angle.
3) Bolt the end of a piece of light chain to the side of one half.
4) Place both chock halves at the front & back of your tire.
5) Stretch the free end of the chain to the other chock half.
6) Mark a place on the side of the remaining chock for a location to bolt the other end of the chain.
7) Drill & bolt the chain and trim it to length.

You should now have two pieces of wood cut at an angle to jam under the front & rear of your tire, and linked together with a length of chain to prevent them from moving.
A picture is worth a thousand words and if I could figure out how to post one here, I would. But here's a link to a photo on Flicker: Click Here!

That might work for a Fusion, but we're talking about trucks here!

I just go out to the store and buy a pair. They work well for stocl vehicles. For my lifted trucks I built a pair from some scrap steel plate.

Thanks Reddog99, I had just made peace with the fact I had to give up my beloved ranger, then you had to rub it in, "Gee Whiz", give a guy a break. Besides, you could bolt 2 tb spacers together for truck use ha ha.

I just bought a pair of hard rubber trailer chocks for $15 at Wal-Mart. Work like a champ.

Thats what I use, rocks from the landscape, where they built a retaining wall around the beds, they work great.
