Last week I had to install an oak door at a state office building. I made the jambs out of 1 -1/2 x 7 inch oak. I have the fall-off pieces and I have enough for two chocks. This thread started at the right time. I guess I have a quick project for this weekend.
Or, like Khadma says, I also made a pair of 2x6 ramps by stacking different size pieces. I use them to change the oil in my Escort. Just getting the thing a few inches off the ground makes a world of difference in getting to the drain plug. But they could double as chocks I suppose. Multi-purpose and cheap, kinda like me.
I take a couple of flat head shovels turn em up where the humps are sticking up and shove them under the rear or front tires, been doing it 4 years on several different vehicles and i have not had a problem yet.
