Hello fellow Ford truck enthusiasts. I have been looking for a while to register to a forum that has a dedicated section for old Ford trucks. Currently I am driving a 1992 Ford Ranger that I bought back in June. This is going to be my daily driver for a while until I complete some of my other projects. The real reason that I joined this site is for my 1953 Ford F-250. I bought this truck from my father back in 1994. It still has the original 239 cube flathead in the engine bay, however, the block is cracked in more than a few places. I planned on resto-rodding the truck back in high school, but high school and college tuition killed all of my funds. I recently procured a 390FE engine out of a 1973 F-350. I will build up this engine for the 53 until I can save some money to find and rebuild another flathead. This truck is my permanent project and it will live again. Here are some pics of my trucks and the engines for the 53.
That is a great project and that '53 would be a nice project truck for sure! With tight funds you can soak up all the information here and have it ready to go when the dollars come back. Your state chapter is also a good source for local information: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum143/
Howdy & Welcome chickenbone, Glad you could join us. To bad the block is cracked what a shame. Plenty of good info available from good folks always willing to help. Sounds like a very cool project. Hey, be sure and check the search option for tons more info.
