i have an 89 f150 with the 300 5 speed trand with original 325's and k7n drop in and open exhaust ( still 1 cat).
i noticed that when i let off on a hill it kinda boggs until i rest my foot on the gas , not its starting to sort of bog and come out of it and bog again
Always wondered about this too, mine does the same thing. it's nice when you need to slow down at stop lights and off ramps and such, but is annoying when you have to have pressure on the pedal just to coast. Always thought it was my tranny cause it has tons of other problems, guess not if your manual is doing it.
When you're doing interstate speeds and let you foot off the gas, it will bogg and slow you down to about 30, sometimes less if you let it. It almost seems like the engine is even more stressed than at full speed, certainly doesn't sound like it's saving gas but i wouldn't have a clue.
