just filled up my tank in my truck and my fuel gauge dident move and when it finally did it only went up to half tank and it took about 20 min.any ideas why?could it be electrical cause my fuel is clean?changed my fuel filter at 10000 miles and was dark gray or light black but still could see the white in the filter. Thanks
Mine has done the same thing, but it has only happened about 6 times in the past 3 years. First time it happened I'd fueled at truck stop and had a very high flow rate going into the tank, and I thought that might've jimmied up the sending unit. It gradually moves up to full within 5 miles or so, so I don't worry about it, but I do double check fuel level with the trip odometer.
I concur with kwik, if you leave the truck running while refueling, it takes a little time for the computer to average everything back out. One cycle of the key and it should read full. This is not a problem, just a feature of our trucks you might say. If you cycle the key and it doesn't read full, you might have a problem.

The engine was off.drove to work and only showed half drove back home and went to 3/4.anyways its a good reason to do my in tank mods.thanks
I have the opposite problem, my fuel guage stays on full all the time. Every once in awhile it will work correctly, but the next time I look at it's back on full.
