failure? If you mean that the switch becomes disconnected from the cable in some way, then yes. It will default to position 0. Our manufacture designed it that way. If this concerns you, then I would put stock or valet in that position.

I did put stock in that position. I had just such a failure. Mechanic was doing something there and moved the wire. Found my F5 not lit and truck poochy because it defaulted to stock mode. No harm done. Still love your chip.

Know what else I found? With big oil and big oil tunes, it actually has less smoke when you compare tunes with tunes. IOW, 60 HP Tow vs 60HP Tow for big oil. Interesting finds. Didn't think big oil and the tunes would lower smoke. I now see a greyer puff when I goose it with the 60HP Tow for big oil as opposed to a darker almost black puff when all I had was the 60HP Tow.

Of course, now I will probably want to return the chip so I can get a smoke tune sooner or later.

Diane, I did remove the display/buttong module and it didn't default to NO-START... It seemed to run as if it was in stock... On my print out it does say that 0 was no-start and 1 is Stock... I will try the instructions you supplied further up in this thread to force it into 0 and see what happens then...

Thanks,

Thanks,
That's what mine does, too. I think it defauts to position 1, not 0. I pretty much don't use 0, so I can't even remember how to get it there, but I have pulled the switch off a couple times and the truck runs like it's stock.

When you disconnect it will go to position 0? I will double check your chip settings. Please give me a call so I can check them.

Diane,
I'm confused -- I thought you had to push & hold both buttons or something like that to get it to position 0 (no start). If simply removing the F5 put it into position 0, why bother with that procedure? I know my truck starts & runs fine without the F5 connected, so that tells me it can't be in the no-start position with it off.

BTW, when I get back to the States, I'll be hitting you guys up to mod mine to account for tranny mods. I'm going to install the TransGo Tugger kit shortly after I get there -- can I run the truck with the tunes after doing the tranny or should I pull the tuner when I do them? I'll probably have the lope & high idle added as well, and probably the 140 Smoke for some extra fun...

I don't know. That is how our chip manufacture made them.

best of luck with your deployment....

For sure, its just not like driving my old Camaro... You gotta try to shift damn quick... Pretty hard with such square gears and a long swing...

Nice, whats the best place to buy it? (Is the FE one the Ciramic?) Does it ever squeek or make a noise when you take off? I live in Canada, so I may end up ordering from the states since our dollar is record high right now!

BTW, is it the single mass one of the dual? And whats the difference?

feramic linnings. cluthc opperates just like stock, bit softer clutch is about all, sometimes when Im hard on it the clutch wil lstick to the floor for second, but they say on the site to take the helper spring off and it stops that aswell as firms up the pedal. oh yea and it comes with a new clutch fork and throwout bearing. I orderd mine from black cloud diesel. was 1100 or something, im from canada aswell. try NADP I think they have decent prices aswell.

the southbend 550hp 1100tq i beleive it is the ceramic one, mine didn't have a dual mass flywheel in it, i paid 1100 shiped to my door for the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, kevlar bushing, clutch fork, throw out bearing from black cloud diesel
