Had the speedo needle hitting the "1" on the shifter panel, must have been about 95-100mph, while i was racing a s-10 on I-55. Did it again yesterday, too, had to slow down cause of a d*** deer, theres too many out here.
My 92 also cruises at 70 with ease. I was driving home from Six Flags New England and got my truck up to 90 when the truck bucked a little (like when u dont shift smoothly. Im not sure what it was but i think it was computer kicking in and i immediately took my foot off the gas.

I ran down an 01 F150 4x4 with a weak little 4.6L. his speed limiter is 110mph and I passed him. I also beat him in a race across our local sand dunes. You can't beat the 300 and mine did all that stock with 35's. I was pullin almost 4500 rpm in 3rd gear on the 3 speed.
Ok, my turn. I was on my way to gulfport from central MS going down hwy 49 Monday..... I had to use my gps plugin for my handspring visor to get the "REAL" MPH and such since my speedo is a little off. I figured at 3000rpm I was doing about 75. On the way back one of my fellow domino's assistant managers wanted to see what it could do. Now keep in mind that my T-18 tranny is screwed up in 3rd (will hardly catch the gear and then pops out) but we got out of gulfport and I opened it up. about 3750rpm I was doing about 100mph. Did it again when some stupid a$$ in a early model couger rode my butt and then I slam on brakes.. heh.... But anyways I kinda killed my tranny doing that cause now after delivering today I have NO 3rd or 4th gears..... Time to swap in a 5 speed and some <3.08 gears.... Then VARROOOOOOMMMMMMM. Do a little head porting and valves...... OH MY GOSH:-staun .. heh
The first and second 3spd+od (mighta been an SROD, but I didn't know anything back then) both had bad third gears. You could push it in, but you couldn't compression brake with it or it'd pop out, and downshifting from OD to third you had to rev it up real high and slip the clutch. Both of them blew and I got another 3spd+od top loader that noone can identify (straight cut first gear, all synchro'd, no granny) that I got for $100(came out of an '84 iirc). That lasted till I rolled the truck.
