Cruise-control?

How complex would it be to add cruise-control to a truck that isn't equipped with it? What parts and mods should I be looking for?

If it is a 1979 then there is more info you need to know than what I listed here.

Okay Post DJ0001

That means you need the straight thru to pedal firewall booster.

Booster # 25*12831* - with push rod # FT-47
and Pedal stamped -SA

Truck does have power brakes via a booster. Is that adequate? You did mention FT-38 or FT-43 as brake booster, on the other post. Is that a part niumber stamped on the booster itself? If so, where would that be located on the booster?

I appreciate your help.

It's on the end of the booster rod near the puch rod hole.

Okay next question.

does the booster push rod connect to the brake pedal with a bolt or a welded on nub like this ?

see the nub with keeper spring ?

I suspect a bolt.

I did it this way:

Tyl:

I added a Rostra cc module and switch (in picture below below gauge cluster/dash) to my '79 Ranger. Comes with good directions and goes right in. Didn't have to do any mods at all, actually, just linked per their rec's. Only small glitch, and it's probably a computer chip thing, is that every now and then when I tap it off with the brake I need to turn it off and back on instead of just "resume-" ing, but it's rare enough that it doesn't seem like an installation issue and isn't too terribly inconvenient.

Good Luck,
FBF

FBFORD,

Was the Rostra kit a full kit? I notice summit sells them but the description is vague.
