I want to install one of those cop type spotlights on my 05 stx scab to help me find house numbers at night,,any pitfalls to doing this and where to get one? thanx
i had two handhelds already..looking for something more durable as it is used a lot..just wanted to know if anybody else had installed one already..i really dont care how it looks cause its just a worktruck..thanx
I've installed a few of these in a couple of Sheriff/HP and DNR F-150 trucks. Retail pricing (I've seen) to go from $105-180 depending on models and features; then expect to pay another $20-$50 on the install kits. The ones I've installed had a metal sleeve that slid through a hole you made in the pillar then slid a rubber "compression bushing" inside of that with the light/control mast. Then when you tighten up the outer bezels it formed a seal from the bezel to the light mast. You only had to worry about making sure you had a good silicone bead under the base and bezel.
W/out diving into my own personal purchasing/vendor info... I went and googled under "Teardrop dummy spotlight" and found this...
