IS THERE ANY ADJUSTMENT TO THE WASTEGATE ON A 2002 PSD?????????? i WAS HOPING TO FIND A LITTLE MORE POWER WITH-OUT ADDING A CHIP. THOUGHT MAYBE ABOUT REMOVING MUFFLER AND CAT. AND ALSO ADDING A 6637 AIR FILTER. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THIS PICK-UP IS STOCK I BOUGHT IT NEW.
Chip gives you more fuel, which in turn gives you more power.
The other mods such as intake, exhaust, etc are supporting mods for more fuel. Just adding an intake on a completely stock truck probably won't give you enough ponies to even notice it. However there is always the placebo effect of new mods that make your truck "feel" stronger.
As for the wastegate adjustment, you can tighten the rod to hold it shut longer, or you can wire it closed and remove the red line leading to the actuator. Without a chip, your turbo should be nowhere near the danger zone even with the wastegate closed shut. What will you feel performance wise? It may be a bit snappier at low and mid throttle, and you may gain a psi or two on the top end.
If you really want power you can feel, get a good chip.
