I'm considering adding an additional fuel transfer/storage tank in order to exend my range for RV towing season next year.
It seems as if many of the tanks that I've seen at retail locations recently are quite pricey.....I was really hoping not to spend several hundred dollars.
Is it possible (or dumb to try) to grab a fuel tank off of a truck at the local Pull-a-Part yard and mount it under the truck, creating a secondary tank on the cheap?
If anybody has any ideas, I'd be happy to hear them-
If you re-locate your spare tire, I'm pretty sure that the tank they put on the excursions would fit back there. My old 88 f250 was setup like that. A rear tank and a side mount tank like ours. A tank from a bigger truck would be cool, but the problem is where to mount it.
I've got the 70 gallon in bed Transfer Flow giving me 99 gallons total. Like Kwik said, it's expensive but worth it. Gives me a 1500 mile range empty or 1000 miles pulling a load.
