I think I'll scrounge the junkyards and see if I can find a truck with 3.73 gears and grab the D44 pumpkin and complete rear axle.. there is one yard I know that specializes in Fords and he has always had quite a few trucks to pick from. That would make for a relatively quick and dirty swap. I'd like to retain some highway milage as the truck does see some travelling so I'm not sure I want to go all the way to 4.10.
I am confused I thought we were talking about trucks? But you keep referring to drag racing. Hummers are NOT made for straight line drag racing no matter the HP under the hood. Same as my truck wont be. I would put my old 72 IH up against your truck Demon just not in a drag race.....lets hook up to some weight then see how the trucks perform.
Just trying to show your comparing apples to oranges. Not that a truck can't be set up for the strip.
