I have a 352 I want to tinker with and see if it will start. The dizzy is gone but I do have a 390 that still has one. Will it go in fine. The 352 is from 65 and the 390 is suppose to be from 72.
Is the dizzy you have points or electronic? If points it's plug and play. I'm not sure what's involved for the elec tho. Someone will hopefully chime in on that. Parts store rebuilds are pretty inexpensive.
the 72 will have points also, ford didnt start using electronic until about 1974 or 1976, i forget which, cuz i was gonna switch mine to electronic but it was a money issue for me.
and 352-482 distrubutors are interchangeable.

Actually it's 332 thru 428. I wasn't aware of any 482s in the FE series.
Ford went to electronic ignition in 1974 on cars, F100/350's, Bronco's and Econolines.
Dizzy's have ID numbers on them that can be traced to a specific year, engine size and the vehicle it was used on. On the curved side of the dizzy body will be a stamped Ford ID number like: D2TF-12127-PA. I can decode every Ford dizzy ID number from 1948 thru 1991.
