almost a year on the shelf I figured its time to put it in..besides its race day and the other half does not like to listen to it...went to my shop at 5:30 AM snapped on the heat turned on the TV to speed channel ..went back into the house got coffee...back to the shop...drained and dropped my tank..marked where my ring is tight on the tank for the sender..sending unit is now on the work bench ready to go back in..my early 99 has the small filler tube so I punched it out to fit the bigger fuel pump nozzle..cut the filler and vent tube in the tank..the ratchet wrench is by far the best way to do this.. .got the filter all in place..now i am sitting here taking a break..my girl friend comes out with another cup of coffe for me and asked why i was out here at 4:30...what a fool..we set time back an hour this morning.. .this kit is a lot easer then it sounds..its going back together now..any thing i am forgetting before i put this thing back together???

mmmm....
nope.
sounds like ya got it covered.
I really should to the Hutch to my truck, too... but the whole thing smacks of effort... and it's my day off....
Only thing you want to do, that I screwed up is....mount the new filter close enough to the tank so there is room for the new helper pump you will probably want to install between the filter and the original fuel pump.
I used a carter 4070.
I had to re-position my filter after all was installed, and the tank refilled, it was an unnecessary pain, and....yuk....I was swimming in liquid gold.
You will now be able to get over 40 gal. in your tank if it's the long wb. I have filled mine to the filler neck before when I was'nt watching close enough.
thanks guy's ..so far so good..tanks in and the lines are in its palce..just need to go pick up a couple more hose clamps.. i did save room for a second pump..but after taking this tank out and seeing there was no problem at all..when cash flow lets me.. i think i want to do kwikk's in tank pump...cant wait to get this done..i want to see the differnce it noise level it makes..as of right now i only have the HPX line on the oil rails...
ok guy's...if you haven't done this yet..do it..I am kicking my self in the butt for not doing this last December when I got my kit. . every thing went real easy..just ...after getting every thing done I started her up..first thing I noticed was I could hear my PS pump whining . .before now I had to stick my head under the hood to hear that...I can still hear that #6 and 8 hole knock. .but a big improvement... the idle was a lot smoother to.. drove easy down to get fuel about 12 miles away and I felt a better peddle response... got to the pumps and for the first time I grabbed the nozzle for the big trucks.. slid it in and held it wide open....I wish the prices where less so I could fill that thing..but in a matter of seconds I was at 30 bucks....that thing pushed the fuel right in without any hesitation.... I got up on the interstate and slammed it to the floor in my 80 econo. .I could finally hear the turbo from the filter spooling up..something new to me..I could only here it after I got close to speed and let up on the peddle before.. I noticed a faster pick up in speed and less black smoke as I had before... I then went to my 120 race. Never used it much before cause it wasn't much better then the 80 tune.. now I can feel a difference... she runs out of oil pressure up there now..any one got a 17* pump kicking around doing nothing??? if you haven't done this mod..or thinking about it...do it..your truck will love you for it...now I can be ready for the race...hope too see Johnson and Gordon crash...
