Most cases under quick act or emergencies I recommend to folks to use the Joints available at O'Reilly's.. However, who does make the best U-Joints for our trucks? I'm trying to put together my list of parts in categories of
Emergency Need (Auto Parts Store) versus Performance/Longevity Need..
For instance we know that MOOG is one of the good ones for Longevity Ball Joints..
So.. U-Joints.. Who do we stand by and choose? Looking for Zerk Fitted ones..
Awesome.. Spicer I believe is an Autozone part they carry.. I'm considering pulling all my U-Joints and upgrading to something better, thats grease able.. If I'm counting right (not in mood to look outside).. Should be 2 upfront on Front Shaft and 3 in the Rear Shaft..
Don't know about the newer F-250s, but my '86 plow/wrecker 460 auto has all the original non-greasable driveline u-joints. That rig has 117,000 tough miles. Sure hope my '06
SD 250 6.0 gets anything approaching that mileage with it's u-joints. Hope all of you do too.
I have used Spicer in the past on my old F150 (totaled it) and I got a lot of miles out of them. The Spicers were fitted with grease fittings. When my SD needs u-joints, I will go with Spicers.

Good luck finding spicers. I searched high and hard for them on my 97 f-250 and they juts weren't available. This was for the front axle stub shafts and the front drive shaft. I think I even called dana/spicer about it. I ended up using a premium u-joint from NAPA. After looking at them all, seemed to be the best quality for off the shelf ones. There are a lot of super heavy duty ones available from specialty manufacturers, but they are big bucks too.
I had the same problem finding Spicer U-joints.
Auto Zone tried selling me Duralast U-joints, made in China! No thanks!
Four Wheel Parts said they have them, but then said they could not find a listing for the front axel U-joints.
NAPA said the same thing.
Riversidegear.com has the Spicer U-joints but I didnt want to wait for shipping.
My boss said to try the auto parts shop by his house, Tops Auto Parts. They didnt have Spicer but did have Precision U-joints by Federal-Mogul.
Better than anthing made in China!
