Where is the fuel shut off switch? I hit lotsa bumps. This stuff is all good to know! Thanks everyone. I will have to keep some extra parts it sounds like cause sometimes I'm like 40 miles out of cell service. Thats a long walk.
Since I just bought the truck I don't know when the fuel filter was changed last too. Thats something I was going to change just to eliminate a possible problem.

The fuel shut off is in the passenger side footwell behind the kick panel.
no doubt about that, so how do you feel about the bombardment of information. I know when i had my first problem happend i got tons of info just like this.
New vehicles are kind of a love hate thing for me. When Its running great and having no problems they are amazing. But then when something goes wrong they can be very frustrating. A friend of mine suggested to try just a small amount of ether and see if it starts. Then I would know if it was a glow plug problem. If it still doesn't run then I know its a fuel or electrical issue. I shy away from ether. Never used it but I hear bad things... ?
Dont run ether, I have seen some stories about ether making the engine run to fast and causing more damage than good. someone said wd40 was a better bet, but i am not sure. Just dont put ether in her.
Sorry for the stupid questions, but what happens when you turn the key on? Dash lights functioning normally? Can you hear the fuel pump buzzing before you start? Have you checked the engine oil level? What about the HPOP oil level? How old are the batteries? Any corrosion on either end of the cables? If weak batteries are a possibility try jump starting before you rush out and buy new ones. I just like to get the basics out of the way before we start digging into the 3 million other things under the hood.
Thanks for all the help. I went out to where the truck is yesterday and took the batteries out. There was a considerable amount of corosion on the cables and batteries. Enough to worry me. And the batteries were low enough so I made the decision to take them out. I figured I would take them home to charge them and clean them to eliminate one of the problems. I'll be up there checking everything you all mentioned late this afternoon. You guys are lifesavers!
