oh okay makes sense so this is what i plan to do let me know if it sounds good.....i'll use the fuse slot to power to the three switches(1 for rear, 1 for 2 front, and 1 for other two on front) then i'll get the live wire coming directly from the battery hook that one up to three relays and from the relay take it to the respective light they will manage? does that sound good. because i finally think i understand :-p srry it took me so long

btw i raelly appreciate all the help you guys gave me..and this way i dont have to worry about overloading the fuse slot with too many power drain. lol dont worry i have a tons of project for that truck so hope i can keep on asking

I've heard of that mod and I don't know of anyone who has done it personally... I'm not sure it it would work or not. LMCTruck sells a kit that you can buy for that.

alright guys i finally got the relays in place. i bought 2; one for each lights system. eventhough i got a bit pset since i bought 10 gauge wire at my wife's whim and i payed for it since when it came to trying and split a wire it didnt work at all. in shot i got creative so thats in place..i cant really tell in difference in performance or nothing but im sure it's safer and smarter that way.

question though the horn on my truck broke a while ago and i decided to fix it today since i was already working. and it turns out that what i took out of the truck was not the horn at all but looks like one... it was located on the firewall on the driver side in the corner between the firewall and fender..anyone have any idea what it could be.. i just left it out and installed the horn in he right place like it should be.... lol well the mesage is getting long....let me know what you all think

srry for the post but now im a bit worried....today i drove my truck to go out and my battery was completely dead...im hoping that i was that something somehow stayed on and thats all.... also after i used a jumper the alternator needle was jumping all over the place.... so im not sure if its something with the relay or jsut a fluke...since after i ran it a bit the needle steadied out at about somewhere around normal and truck started up for the return trip...so any thoughts

It sounds like you drained your battery by leaving something on... (hopefully)

As for the horn-like device that you pulled out, not sure, but I'd put it back in ASAP, lol. The horn SHOULD be located behind the passenger headlight.

i found the horn its actually under the driver side light and now my truck has a lovely uuuuuuuga horn .... i drove the truck again yesterday at night to go out and it did great. literally better then normal so i think hopefully i just did leave something on and whatever it was is now fine....

as for the horn device i left it out and truck has been acting better if anything

oh btw the i also noticed that the headlights and foglights are actually brighter then they use to be :-d so once again thanks a bunch. but im gonna go the extra mile an add the dual battery so that i drain that one and dont run the risk of killing my primary again and probably add the relay to the headlights....but everything good... that and i decided yesterday to start running my truck on premium gas so im sure thats helping performance :-p( lol i figured its only an extra 3 or so dollars at fill up)

Keep in mind that if you install a 2nd battery you also need to wire up an intricate charging system to keep the battery charged through the alternator circuit. You might be able to try using some of the wiring from a diesel engine since they have 2 batteries from the factory.

lol thats the lovely part .. i hope i dont get in trouble for this but look

http://ramchargercentral.com/index.p...owtoshow;id=11

in short its a how to for a dual battery set up and the lovely part is you dont have to spend $150 on a system from a company... what happens is the isolator splits the charge from the alternator into 2 charges one for each battery.. as a result the batteries are also completely independent if you drain one the other is fine...which is perfect because you attach all the accesories to your second battery and leave the primary to basically turn on the truck..what you think i like it

I don't really know... I looked at it and figured I'd leave it up to the experts. Seems to me that it wouldn't be a good idea to be splitting your alternator power to two separate batteries... I'd think that you'd want to daisy chain the batteries, but again, I don't know much about that.

hmm the only reason im against putting the batteries together is that if one dies both die... while if seperate i know i can always start the truck whereever i am even if i dont have my charger...

oh btw you know the problems i had with the battery dying and what not...well it all got answered yesterday, i went to the auto store to pick up the speedo cable i ordered and when i tried leaving the truck wouldnt start..at all i use my jumper and everyting nothing...eventually friend came over to give a jump and we got it working to only break down in the middle of the intersection..this tow truck happened to be there luckily and towed me home for 15 bucks....soooo i tested the battery tested the alternator checked all the wires, etc.... nothing worked.....then for some reason the starter solenoid occured to me...so i replaced it turned the key and dead lol...well turns out i forgot one of the cables that went on the solenoid :-p but once i got that on there the truck ran great and after a test drive and outing i declare that problem fixed
