I have a 96 F-150 with the 300 I-6. My problem is that I put platinum plugs in about 15,000 miles ago and they are shot. they are not fouled, they are just plain worn out. Has anyone else had this problem?
Some other gentlemen on the net I have spoken to have told me many many stories about the cheaper platinum plugs not lasting any better than copper plugs do. Particularly the thin single electrode Bosch Platinums. They also suggest staying away from the +4's.
Don't bother with the platinum plugs in the 300 six. Save your
money. I personally have found the Bosch Supers to work the
best and last the longest in my 300 and only cost about a buck
apiece. I change mine every 30,000 miles whether they need it
or not.
