240vs.300

Is the 240 the same block as the 300,just destroked? I'm just wondering, because my 240 is coming out this winter and I wanted to replace a few parts with parts from my blown 300. If they are, I might do the reverse and redo my 300 with 240 parts. Thanks.

I think that the 300 has a taller block than the 240. I was gonna use a crank out of a 300, but I think my piston would be hitting things if it did. If your not sure, measure the two. Remember the 240 stroke is 3.18, and the 300 is 3.98.

The 240 and 300 block is teh same, but, they have a different stroke crank(as expected) and different rods and pistons(240 uses 302 pistons.)
