Recently there has been a subtle grind/popping noise while rolling my driver's sideglass up and down. Any ideas? The rig is still under my bumper to bumper warranty...
Take it in.. They will need to clean the tracks and replace the glass.. This has happened before in the past.. They did it to mine, I had a really bad center scratch from top/bottom on my passenger front door glass.. You could see it when light reflected off it, turned out to be dirt/grime, bad window seal.. They replaced it all for me..
I just bought an '06 a few weeks back and I have this same issue at 30k miles (still under warranty)... The glass on driver's and passenger side doors has a bunch of perfect straight line scratches. Is this what you guys are talking about?

Are the scratches on the outside? If so, it sounds like you are describing the same issue.

Yup, you nailed it! Sounds like I'll be adding this to my list of things to have the dealer check out at my first service visit since purchase...
This is my second Ford truck, and I love it... wouldn't buy anything else. But I have gotten accustomed to dealing with the odd problem like this from time to time. I'll take the very few bad things with all the good that comes with the blue logo!
Too bad that doesn't help those of us with scratched glass that are out of warranty - only fix is buying new window glass and getting the new moulding and adjusting things. (wonder how much that will be?$$)
Not so sure buying a new seal would fix the prob tho.....As soon as I hear any kind of scratching on the glass, I run my fingers between the glsss and seal and clear whatever is there usually small rock or something from our dirt roads.
Ahhhhhh So the flange that the moulding attaches to could be just out too far. Hmmmmmm Time for me to check mine now...Maybe I won't have to "clean" the moulding so often.
So does this issue also happen with the rear doors on a crew cab? I don't see any scratching on the glass on those doors, but I want to make sure to have the dealer check that out if it tends to be an issue as well... Got 30k on here now, so I should really get this in and get it taken care of.
Are there any other common issues with TSB's on our trucks that I should check into? Wondering if there are other potential issues that I may not even be aware of yet that I really want to check into before my factory warranty expires.
Thanks again for the help, and for any further help!
